Hello Class of 1998!

Our 10 year reunion weekend is scheduled for October 3rd-5th. Thank you to everyone who has taken time to email Mr. Waller and me over the last few weeks! We hope that everyone is able to attend a portion of the weekend. Everyone is invited and encouraged to bring spouses/significant others. Please also feel free to bring children to the Fall Festival, Open House, and the class picnic.

The Reunion Committee met for the first time recently, and we wanted to update everyone on the latest happenings. Reunion weekend will have these components:

Friday (October 3rd):
  • 4:00-8:00 p.m.: Fall Festival at Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School
  • 6:30-until: Class of 1998 “Meet and Greet “at a local restaurant for drinks and light snacks
Saturday (October 4th):
  • Afternoon: An Open House at Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School to meet teachers and classmates as well as participate in student led tours of the school
  • Evening: Class of 1998 dinner
Sunday (October 5th):
  • Afternoon: Class picnic at Maymont

As soon as we finalize details (times, places, costs, etc.), we will be sending out information through email and facebook. (We are hoping to keep this as low cost per person as possible!) A big thank you to Amy Depcrynski and Leslie Taggart Viars for taking the lead on coordinating the weekend. We definitely would like any input and suggestions for everyone, so please feel free to email any one of us.

We will also be sending out an official “EVITE” for the weekend so we can get an accurate head count for planning purposes. Please take a moment and let us know whether you will be attending. We will also be inviting the Class of 1997 and the Class of 1999 to attend. There are still classmates that we do not have current contact information for, so please forward any information you receive to friends.

One last tidbit---Leslie has graciously offered to create a newsletter/booklet that updates the class on everyone’s “highlights” over the last 10 years. Please keep an eye out for her request to be included in this project.

Our next planning meeting is scheduled for August 25th at 6:30 p.m. at the Carytown Starbucks. Please join us if you can. The more, the merrier.

This should be fun! We look forward to seeing you all the first weekend of October.

Your friend,
